I believe the Second connection is the normal and you want to change it to the first connection on the picture.
Theoretically ,that's okay .Because we see the logger through Modbus TCP 502 port, as long as it is in the same network as switchidn we should be able to see it.
How It Works- Connection Architecture: Droplet → Logger (TCP) → Inverters (RS485)
- Communication:
- Droplet to Logger: Modbus TCP (Port 502)
- Logger to Inverters: RS485 (Modbus RTU)
Inverters appear on regular slave IDs: 1, 2, 3, etc.Logger's own memory map appears on slave ID 247.
Discovery Process:
The droplet discovers the inverters behind the logger, not the logger itself
The logger is transparent - it just forwards Modbus commands- Used for setups like:
Droplet → Sungrow Logger → 4x Sungrow PV 3-phase inverters - Critical Control Configuration
IMPORTANT: The logger has its own control capability that MUST BE DISABLED to avoid conflicts:

Subject: Re: [SwitchDin]Hey Azam we have another job I was hoping you would be able to help me with.It is for VIVA and there has been some issues with them allowing ports to be open etc for Horizon Power. This particular job has droplet ID 0001C03AD3C9 but there is another 5 which will have the same issues.
There is 2 x sun grow inverters connected to a data logger via RS485. The data logger is connected to the droplet via ethernet and so we can see both inverters and data logger in the storm cloud app but the isolarcloud / sun grow app shows the system as offline.
If we were to reconfigure and have the data logger connected to the same network switch as the droplet so that the data logger can be viewed in the isolarcloud app, are you able to add the 2 inverters and see them via the network connection instead of them being physically connected to the droplet?
Ive attached a quick SLD below to show how it is connected and how I mean to change it.
Please let us know on the above.
